Quotes from Internet and Reviews
Thank you All for your Comments and Reviews of Sarcofagus Ltd "Core Values" album; much appreciated!!!
Please keep sending us clippings and links about Sarcofagus
In English:
"I can honestly say I have NEVER heard an old cult band who managed to both renew themselves and still keep their original, obscure sound so well."
-The Corroseum: DaN-
"It's decidedly Sarcofagus from the word 'go' till the end of the French version of "2nd coming", the last cut on offer. Then again they were always experimental, weird and OTT on the first two albums as well and "Moottorilinnut" wasn't all fun and hit singles either, was it? "Core Values" is heavy in every sense of the word."
-The Corroseum: Mattila-
"Just broke my "Core Values" virginity. First sex feels like unsignificant anecdote... Best. Comeback. Album. Ever."
-The Corroseum: DaN-
"The band's mastermind Kimmo Kuusniemi was way ahead of his time in music, but while metal wasn't actually the most cherished music style at the time, he turned his creative mind into making films and videos for 25 yrs. But the seed for metal in Finland was sown by Sarcofagus and and soon bloomed in bands like Tarot, Zero Nine and Stratovarius to name a few."
"After 25 years of silence Sarcofagus have released "Core Values" -a CD that can't really be described using comparisons to anything done in metal during these past 25 years. The music is definitely metal, but if you want to categorize it you'd better start a fresh category for it, because this CD just don't fit under the usual tags. One might easily make wrong conclusions about grey-bearded "old timers" daydreaming about a come-back, but it'll be better to forget all presumptions with the Sarcofagus Ltd and let the music of "Core Values"-CD do the speaking.
-ProgPower USA: St Enigma-
-Imperium-
"Suora kuvailu on aikalailla hankalaa, Silla Core Valuesille on oikeasti vaikea keksia vertailukohtia esimerkiksi viime vuosina vastaan tulleista metallilevyista. Sarcofagus on kuin sukellusveneessa viimeiset 25 vuotta asunut kummajainen: se ei tunnu kuulleen mitaan ihmisten pitamaa metelia aikoihin, joten lahes kaikki on pitanyt keksia itse."
"...omaperaisyys ja tietynlainen puoliksi hallittu hulluus tekevat Core Valuesista hypnoottista kuultavaa. Se on rohkea veto yhtyeelta, jonka musiikin nykytilasta oli ennen aaninaytteita vaikea esittaa minkaanlaisia arvailuja."
-Noise.Fi: Antti Kavonen-
Finnish Newspaper reviews:
"Kimmo Kuusniemen ja kumppaneiden kunniaksi on sanottava etta Core Values ei kosiskele. Kysymyksessa ei tosiaankaan ole Suomessa viime vuosina vallalla ollut kevythevi, jossa soittajat pyrkivat olemaan rankempia kuin musiikkinsa."
"Lopputulos jyraa loppumattomalla vauhdilla ja energialla eteenpain."
-Sanomalehti Karjalainen: Kimmo Nevalainen-
"Jokainen kuuntelukerta tuo esille uusia ulottuvuuksia. Savellysten monitahoisuus on kerrassaan kiehtovaa. Levyn tarjoaman haasteen ottaa mieluusti vastaan, sen verran harvinaisia tallaiset albumit ovat taman paivan valmiiksi pureskeltujen liukuhihnatuotteiden tulvassa."
"Jos tata haasteellisempi ja innovatiivisempi levy julkaistaan vuonna 2007, tuokaa se minulle. Tama on huikea matka musiikin aarirajoille."
-Kouvolan Sanomat: Harri Koskinen-

We had a quick visit to this years FME. We had great time there as we met a lot of old and new friends. The main event of course was that Klaus Flaming the Heavy Metal Voice of Finnish Radio got the Imperiumi Life Time Award for his work for Metal. This he truly deserves!
We also met Hannu Leiden, the first singer of Sarcofagus (Single&Cycle Of Life). It’s been 25 years since we last met so it was no surprise that we didn’t first recognize each other! It was really great to catch up with Hannu and we promised to meet again soon.
We had fun time talking with Samuel Jylha, Mika Penttinen and Ismo Karo; these guys know everything about heavy metal and more about Sarcofagus than we do!
Many old and new friends and fellow musicians came to say hello and talk about music.
It was a really fantastic evening! FME is a unique event that every metal head should experience! Worth going to Finland just for it!

Luckily we happened to be in Finland at the time of the first Finnish Metal Expo. We met many cool people like Timo Tolkki from Stratovarius (note the Original 1980s Sarcofagus Badge he’s wearing :) and Thunderstone who were then releasing their new album. It was quite a surprise to find out that they are related to Sarcofagus! Titus is Esa’s step son! Cool!
We also had our good old friend Jari “advertising” the Resurrection of Sarcofagus dressed up as a monk: Jari “Fogeli” Lintukankare has been helping me from the very beginning in my music adventures. He can also be seen on Motorbirds videos (featuring Kirka) playing bass when Juha couldn’t come to the studio. He’s always there when needed.
We also met Samuel Jylhä who was working hard at the metal expo.
And of course we had to make the compulsory Marshall picture by the request of the Marshall Dealer :)
